We are now into level 16
For this level we are told
“The credentials for the next level can be retrieved by submitting the password of the current level to a port on localhost in the range 31000 to 32000. First find out which of these ports have a server listening on them. Then find out which of those speak SSL and which don’t. There is only 1 server that will give the next credentials, the others will simply send back to you whatever you send to it.”
For this level we need to use OpenSSL to connect to an unknown port and send the password again
First we need to find the correct port with NMap
“nmap localhost -p 31000-32000”
This will find several ports

Now we will use the same trick as in the previous level
“openssl s_client -ign_eof -connect localhost:31046”
Then try the current password
We then type in the current password and hit enter
We get a message that says “Correct!”
This time we save the RSA Private Key as “bandit17.key”
